چکیده
ایده زیبایی بی‌شک یکی از مفاهیم اساسی در فلسفه افلاطون است و حتی می‌توان آن را هم‌پای ایده خیر و واحد دانست که همانند آن ایده‌ها، نقش اساسی در نظام دیالکتیکی افلاطون دارد. جهت‌گیری دیالکتیکی این ایده با پرسش سقراط از خود زیبایی در محاوره هیپیاس بزرگ شروع می‌شود و هر چند هیپیاس از عهده پاسخ او برنمی‌آید اما از یک سو دلالت‌های متنوع معنایی این مفهوم آشکار می‌شوند و از سوی دیگر، فهم این ایده از سطح انضمامی به سطح انتزاعی کشیده می‌شود و بر این مبنا است که دو سیر دیالکتیکی صعودی و نزولی در محاوره هم‌نوشی شکل می‌گیرند. سیر صعودی از بدن‌های زیبا به سمت خود زیبایی است و سیر نزولی از خود زیبایی به جهان جسمانی برای زایش افکار و اعمال زیبا است. شخصیت محوری در این دو سیر سقراط است که ویژگی سرکش و خلاف عرف و عادت او هم مایه تمایزش از دیگران می‌شود و هم این که به او توانایی پیمودن این دو سیر را می‌دهد. به این جهت است که او با وجود زشتی ظاهر، درونی پر از نقوش زیبا و خدایی دارد و زایش این نقوش زیبا توسط او با زبان و لوگوس او است که به تایید آلکیبیادس، تاثیری عمیق بر قلب و روح مخاطبانش می‌گذارد. بنابراین، هدف مقاله حاضر پی‌گیری این مسیر دیالکتیکی در اندیشه افلاطون از پرسش اولیه در مورد زیبایی تا زایش زیبایی است.
